Meet the San Antonio Team Behind Latch and Post Gate Repair San Antonio

We’re a small crew, and we like it that way. Every gate that gets fixed, hung, or automated in San Antonio is handled by one of four people whose names you’ll actually learn. We’ve been at this since 2009 as part of the Cedarwell family of independently owned and operated gate specialists, and in that time we’ve worked on more Alamo Heights driveway gates and Stone Oak community entry systems than we can count. What unites us is simple: we want the gate to open tomorrow morning without a second thought. Nobody here gets paid by commission, and nobody here will rush you into a repair you don’t need.

Our People

Cody Beckman, Owner & Lead Technician

Cody started Latch and Post Gate Repair San Antonio in 2009 after a decade of working on commercial access systems, and he still runs service calls most days. He’s factory-trained on LiftMaster, FAAC, BFT, Linear, Viking, Ghost Controls, DoorKing, Elite, and Mighty Mule, which means he’s the guy who gets sent when another company has already tried twice and failed. His specialty is electric gate repair, particularly control boards and loop detectors that behave intermittently. He’ll tell you about the time he spent forty minutes diagnosing a LiftMaster 858LM only to find the battery in the remote needed replacing. He still charges the fair rate for the forty minutes and tells the customer the truth. Outside work, Cody spends most weekends on the Medina River with his two sons, and he’s been known to fix a neighbor’s gate for free when the neighbor brings over barbecue.

Marcus T., Senior Installer

Marcus has been hanging gates in San Antonio for fourteen years, and he joined Latch and Post eight years ago after running his own crew for a stint. His specialty is new gate installation, especially the heavy steel driveway gates common in Shavano Park and Terrell Hills. He handles the structural side: setting posts in concrete, squaring the frame, making sure a 400-pound gate swings true and doesn’t sag in the clay soil. Marcus is the one who insists on a second level check after the first rain. He’s quiet, works fast, and is extremely particular about clean welds. Off the clock, he coaches youth baseball at a Northside league and can tell you which taquerias on Culebra are worth the drive.

Elena R., Service Coordinator

Elena is the voice you hear when you call (325) 252-5195, whether it’s Tuesday at 2 p.m. or Christmas Eve at 11 p.m. She’s been with the Cedarwell family for six years and knows the difference between a broken latch, a dead opener, and a bent post before the call reaches five minutes. Her job is scheduling, parts ordering, and making sure every customer gets a written price before any work starts. She keeps the calendar organized around San Antonio’s rhythms: school pickup times, HOA noise rules in master-planned communities, and the July heat that makes metal gates swell. If you call about a gate that won’t close and a toddler who can escape, she’s the person who will reorder the day to get someone out sooner. She’s a San Antonio native, a Roosevelt High School graduate, and she runs a small rescue operation for stray cats out of her garage.

Danny V., Apprentice Technician

Danny joined the crew two years ago after finishing a technical program in San Antonio, and he’s now handling latch replacements, hinge repairs, and basic electric gate diagnostics on his own. He’s working through the full brand training list under Cody, with a particular interest in Ghost Controls and Mighty Mule systems because those are what most homeowners actually have. His role is to be the second pair of hands on install days and the first person customers see when a simple repair doesn’t need a senior tech. Danny grew up in Converse, still lives near his grandmother, and is the one who remembers to put shoe covers on before he walks through your front door, even when the gate is in the backyard and the dog is barking.

One Standard, Every Job

Every Cedarwell location works to the same set of rules, and we don’t bend them because the customer is in a hurry or the job is at the end of a long Friday. We call them the C.A.R.E. values. Clean up like it is our own home: we lay drop cloths on the floor and put on shoe covers before we step inside so your floors stay clean, and we take a photo of the cleanup before the technician leaves. Ask before we move or touch anything, whether it’s a planter near the gate or a car parked in the driveway. Respect your time and quiet hours: if a nap is happening, we use quiet tools. Explain the price before the work: a written number, agreed upon, before we touch anything. If a repair or installation isn’t right, the 365-Day Done Right Promise means we make it right, no argument and no fine print. The crew in San Antonio takes that personally.
